On August 29, 2023, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), the main investor of the La Gan wind farm, together with Dai Dung Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the development and construction of monopile foundations and steel structures for offshore wind power projects in Vietnam.

Mr. Stuart Livesey, representation of CIP in Vietnam, said at the ceremony: “CIP has a strong commitment to the offshore wind power industry in Binh Thuan in particular, and the Vietnamese market in general. Through the experience of implementing many offshore wind projects around the world, we know that the development and utilization of the domestic supply chain is one of the most important factors to ensure an effective project implementation and cost efficiency, thereby helping to reduce electricity prices to consumers. In order to contribute to the sustainable development of the offshore wind power market in Vietnam, CIP always aspires to accompany qualified partners and suppliers to jointly promote the domestic supply chain. Dai Dung are a very capable and reliable steel fabricator in Vietnam and have plans to expand their capabilities with supply chain investments in the Binh Thuan area, which in turn will boost the offshore wind industry from this region. The Memorandum of Understanding between CIP and Dai Dung Group not only shows our confidence in the capacity of domestic manufacturers, but also promises to open up many opportunities for supply chain development associated with the offshore wind power industry in Vietnam.”

The MoU marks the cooperation between a capable domestic infrastructure provider and an internationally experienced offshore wind power investor, utilizing the strengths of each party to initiate the offshore wind power industry in Vietnam, and to achieve the net emission reduction goal through energy transition and renewable energy development, and sharing knowledge.
